Npk Training Sessions.
Parkour Nottingham have been leading the community in the city since 2005, organising training days, meetings, events and helping to direct and teach new and young athletes.
The community in Nottingham is varied and wide, the age group engaging in the discipline ranges from around 13-30, though the majority of practitioners are in their teens, there are many older people now getting involved. There is a real sense of comradery in training at the weekly jams, everyone is friendly and welcoming and willing to help anyone start or develop their skills.
Ask any of the regulars and they’ll tell you that respect is given to those who put in effort, try hard and who are dedicated more so than anyone who is naturally gifted.
We do ask that people are the age of 13 or above to join practicing with us. The reason for this is you need a mature mental attitude and understanding of how to train and use the body without being too risky. You should be responsible for your own actions, your safety and the ones around you. You have to be able to get yourself to and from town on your own as the main group does split from time to time into smaller groups.
The weekly training sessions are on average from 12pm onwards. Most people finish training at 5pm though as that has been a good five hours training.
If you want to be fully up to date with all the events going off then please keep an eye on the Parkour Nottingham Facebook.
Saturday Open Training Session.
Meet up: Royal Centre Tram stop silver benches (http://tinyurl.com/Npkmaps)
Time: 12:00.
A weekly open training session for people of all ages, levels and abilities to join and take part regardless of being a total beginner, intermediate or a more advanced traceur. Practitioners of all levels of experience are on hand, to give advise if needed. This session is a great way to meet other traceur’s, keep fit and have fun all free of charge.
Sunday Beginner Session.
Meet up: Royal Centre Tram stop silver benches (http://tinyurl.com/Npkmaps)
Time: 13:00.
The session is open to all beginner & intermediate traceur’s. You will be helped out with your movements by more experienced practitioners who are out. You will be practicing along side people who have the same level of skill as yourself. These sessions are great way to get into Parkour without the added pressure of regulars who turn out to the Saturday sessions which may make people who are new feel more intimidated about joining.
Hell Night Workout Session. (Thursday Evenings).
Meet up: Robin Hood Statue. (http://tinyurl.com/Npkmaps)
Time: 18:30.
These sessions in basic form are a heavy duty full body conditioning workout session, using Parkour type moves and exercises to help build stamina and help gain strength.
It is highly recommended to come to one of these sessions if you want to get help get ahead of the rest in your Parkour fitness or if you just want a workout with something a little different then the gym.
These sessions are pretty hardcore and are not for the ones who do not like conditioning and hard work. Saying this when you have attended a few your strength will really increase and you will see and feel the difference.
